The Sideways Life

Rian was looking for a new website for her one-woman P.R. agency, The Sideways Life. Deeply rooted in the world of outdoor and adventure sports, The Sideways Life needed to appeal to the boardsport audience and adjacent lifestyle industry clients.

We moved her site from a blogging platform to a fully-fledged portfolio that could showcase her proven track record to potential collaborators. The design makes use of beautiful photography from brands that Rian has worked with (used with their permission), and allows Rian to add new case studies and employees as her business grows.

I designed the site in Squarespace, with an emphasis on custom CSS coding. Styles are tailored desktop and mobile.

We created a functional and flexible logo that would not overshadow the brands Rian works with. The animated icon mark is a nod to boardsports and the valuable perspective shift that comes from looking at the world sideways.
